Meet Michela
Michela is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor and Pilates teacher who has been part of the Tuscaloosa community for the past decade. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Alabama and will begin her Master of Social Work in Fall 2026. Michela’s journey into yoga began in college after a leg injury led her to the practice as part of her rehabilitation. What she discovered was more than physical recovery—it was a way to move, feel, and reconnect without competition or judgment, a foundation that continues to shape her teaching.
In addition to teaching, Michela works with an international feminist organization, bringing somatic practices and nervous system regulation to survivors of gender-based violence. She believes yoga is a powerful pathway to reconnect with the body and cultivate resilience and balance. While she enjoys teaching a variety of styles, her heart shines in Vinyasa, where breath and movement flow together. Michela is excited to join the Balancing Breath team and create a welcoming, supportive space for all students.
